Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Drive to Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park
Your safari begins with a scenic drive towards the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, known as Ishasha.
The journey takes you through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, passing through local communities, rolling hills, and farmland before arriving in the remote wilderness of Ishasha.
Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of this less visited part of the park. Depending on arrival time, you may relax at the lodge or enjoy an optional evening wildlife drive.

Ishasha is famous for its unique population of tree-climbing lions, which are often seen resting on large fig trees during the heat of the day.

Day 2 – Ishasha Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Start the day with an early morning game drive through Ishasha sector in search of the famous tree-climbing lions.
The open savannah plains of Ishasha provide excellent opportunities to spot lions resting in trees, elephants moving through the grasslands, buffalo herds, Uganda kob, topis, and other wildlife.
After the game drive, continue towards the Mweya region of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Upon arrival at your lodge, enjoy lunch before proceeding for a memorable sunset boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel.
The Kazinga Channel is one of Uganda’s most spectacular wildlife experiences, offering close views of large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants drinking along the shoreline, and hundreds of bird species.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Queen Elizabeth Game Drive & Optional Kyambura Chimpanzee Trekking
Wake up early for a morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The park is home to an impressive variety of wildlife including elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, Uganda kob, warthogs, waterbucks, and numerous bird species.
Explore the Kasenyi Plains, one of the best wildlife viewing areas in the park, where predators often follow large herds of Uganda kob.
In the afternoon, you may choose an optional chimpanzee trekking experience in Kyambura Gorge Reserve.
Known as the “Valley of Apes,” Kyambura Gorge is a beautiful underground forest surrounded by savannah plains and offers opportunities to track habituated chimpanzees.
After the activity, return to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.
