Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Welcome to the Pearl of Africa! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide who will brief you about your upcoming adventure before transferring you to your hotel.

Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the hotel, enjoy the peaceful gardens, or explore nearby attractions around Entebbe. This is the perfect opportunity to recover from your international flight and prepare for the exciting safari ahead.

Day 2: Entebbe – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast, depart Entebbe for Uganda’s largest national park, Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes you through vibrant towns, traditional villages, and beautiful countryside.

En route, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can see wild rhinos. Accompanied by an experienced ranger, enjoy a guided walking safari to track these magnificent animals in their natural environment.

After lunch, continue to Murchison Falls National Park and visit the top of the falls if time permits. Here, witness the River Nile squeeze through a narrow 7-meter gorge before plunging over 40 meters into the Devil’s Cauldron, a truly spectacular sight.

Day 3: Game Drive & Nile Boat Safari in Murchison Falls National Park

Rise early for a thrilling morning game drive across the northern savannah of Murchison Falls National Park.

Keep your camera ready as you search for:

After lunch, embark on one of Africa’s most scenic boat cruises along the River Nile toward the base of Murchison Falls.

Along the riverbanks, you’ll encounter enormous pods of hippos, giant Nile crocodiles, elephants cooling off in the water, buffaloes, and an impressive variety of birdlife, including African fish eagles, kingfishers, bee-eaters, and the rare shoebill stork if you’re fortunate.

Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest National Park

Following breakfast, depart Murchison Falls and journey south toward Kibale Forest National Park, widely regarded as East Africa’s primate capital.

The drive showcases Uganda’s incredible diversity, from open savannah to lush forests, rolling hills, tea plantations, and picturesque villages.

Arrive in the afternoon and settle into your rainforest lodge surrounded by beautiful tropical vegetation.

Spend the evening relaxing while listening to the sounds of the forest.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

Today offers one of Uganda’s finest primate experiences.

After breakfast, report to Kibale Forest headquarters for a briefing before entering the forest with experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority guides in search of wild chimpanzees.

Besides chimpanzees, Kibale is home to over 13 primate species, including:

• Red-tailed monkeys
• Black-and-white colobus monkeys
• Grey-cheeked mangabeys
• L’Hoest’s monkeys
• Olive baboons

Following lunch, visit the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided community nature walk. The swamp is famous for its exceptional birdlife, monkeys, butterflies, and rich cultural heritage managed by the local community.

This natural waterway connects Lake George and Lake Edward and supports one of Africa’s highest concentrations of hippos.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Following breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the scenic southwestern highlands of Uganda.

The journey passes rolling hills, banana plantations, terraced farms, and charming rural communities before arriving at the ancient rainforest that shelters nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Spend the evening relaxing and preparing for tomorrow’s life-changing gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi

Today marks the highlight of your Uganda safari.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for registration and a briefing by experienced park rangers.

Your trekking group will then venture deep into Bwindi’s dense rainforest in search of one of the habituated mountain gorilla families.

The trek may last between 2 and 7 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once found, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, interact, and care for their young.

This extraordinary wildlife encounter is considered one of the greatest experiences on Earth.

After the trek, return to your lodge to relax and celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime achievement.

Day 10: Bwindi – Entebbe International Airport

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before beginning your return journey to Entebbe.

Depending on your departure schedule, your guide will transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight. Alternatively, departure through Kigali International Airport can be arranged upon request. Domestic scheduled flights between Bwindi and Entebbe are also available at an additional cost for travelers who prefer a shorter transfer.

Your safari concludes with unforgettable memories of Uganda’s remarkable wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality.
